Every number, reconciled before it is read
The Feed pulls the month's data from every source, project, commercial and finance, and reconciles it before a single figure reaches a report. When the QS says one number and the ledger says another, The Feed surfaces the difference first. Nothing downstream is trusted until the inputs agree.

Agree the inputs before anyone reads a number
The Margin Cockpit™ runs on data from three systems that rarely agree on their own: the project ledger, the commercial valuation, and the finance accounts. The Feed is the first stage. It pulls all three for the eight contracts, aligns them to the same period, and reconciles them against each other before any margin figure is calculated. A number that has not been reconciled does not enter the Cockpit.
Most margin surprises are not events. They are two systems that quietly disagreed for a month. The Feed makes the disagreement visible on day one, when it is a query, not at month-end, when it is a write-off.
What it pulls, and how often
The project ledger supplies committed cost and site-recorded progress. The commercial system supplies applications, valuations and the variation position. Finance supplies actual cost, accruals and the cash ledger. The Feed pulls all three weekly and holds the month open until they reconcile.
The exceptions it surfaced this month
April reconciliation raised 11 exceptions across the eight contracts. The material ones are familiar names: a £62.4k Whitmore variation valued in commercial but not yet in cost, Kingsferry daywork sheets recorded on site but missing from the ledger, and a Cathedral accrual carried in finance but not reflected in the valuation. Each becomes a query with an owner before it can distort the margin.
An unreconciled variance over £5k is raised as an exception the day it appears, assigned to the contract QS, and held open on the register until both systems agree. Eight of April's eleven were closed within the week.
What The Feed hands on
Once the inputs agree, The Feed hands a single reconciled dataset to The Gauge, which reads the margin position from it. The same clean data underpins the Monthly Margin Snapshot and the Margin Bridge. Every figure in every downstream report traces back to a reconciled input here, which is what lets the board trust a single number.
