Why two pages
A board pack longer than two pages is rarely read in full. The cost is not the pages — it is the dilution. The board's attention shifts to whatever is most striking visually, not whatever is most important commercially.
What goes on each page
- Page one — narrative. What moved this month, why, and what the operator is doing about it. Three paragraphs, signed by the operator.
- Page two — KPIs and exceptions. Five to seven KPIs with month-on-month movement and an RAG status. An exception log with the top three issues and their owners.
- Everything else — exhibit. Detailed cost reports, project lists, pipeline cuts. Available on request, not in the pack.
